Beru Revue

Come home to the former legendary

Chestnut Cabaret

$15 adv/ $20 day of    9 p.m.

Beru Revue, longtime staple of the club circuit  in Philadelphia’s rich 80′s live music scene, return to their old stomping grounds on April 24th- the former site of the Chestnut Cabaret.

Led by frontman/vaudevillian Bob Beru, the rock sextet has performed for years through costumed vignettes that, while sometimes politically incorrect, are always inclusive and often interactive. Subjects of religion, booze, death, and rebirth are all served up with a double dose of silliness and laser-like dueling guitars.

The band’s “final” performance came inside The Blockley’s doors in 1988, formerly the famed Chestnut Cabaret.  After the tragic losses of bassist John Sacks and guitarist Jerry Healy, the remaining members of Beru Revue (T-Bone Davis, Buzz Barkley, “Sir Thomas Drake”, Bob Beru) re-united in 2006, and have since played a string of sold-out shows in the Philadelphia area over the past 4 years.

Now after 22 years, the whacky and zany, electrifying live performance by Beru Revue will return to their old home at 38th and Ludlow.
